ABOUT ANALYTICON

The second edition of Analytical and Bioanalytical Methods Conference (ANALYTICON-2020) is organized by United Scientific Group (A Non-Profit Scientific Organization) and hosted in San Francisco, CA, USA during April 27-29, 2020. The meeting targets to unite all researchers from the world of analytical and bioanalytical chemistry with diverse backgrounds like academia, industry etc.

Analytical techniques are a crucial part of any advancement in science and technology. The methods involve instruments and processes that are implemented for separation, detection, identification and quantification of matter. Bioanalytical chemistry, a branch of analytical chemistry, includes the characterization of biological samples. Thus, the domain of analytical techniques has widespread applications in the field of medicine, food, forensics, environment, biotechnology and many more.

Our aim is to bridge the gap between renowned academicians, industrialists and upcoming researchers and provide a common platform to amalgamate experience, wisdom and vision from experts from which all attendees can benefit. We welcome all participants worldwide and encourage sharing of knowledge through oral/poster presentations, symposiums and networking sessions.

Abstract Peer-Review Process/Guidelines

USG United Scientific Group and the organizing committee members of ANALYTICON-2020 ensures a rigorous, high-quality and unbiased peer review process for all abstracts submitted to the conference. The decision of abstract acceptance will be judged by a panel of expert reviewers and / or session chair and / or conference chairman emphasizing whether the findings and / or conclusions are novel and make useful contributions to the field.

The committee will determine whether the abstract is more appropriate for oral or poster presentation. Eligibility for oral or poster presentation will be determined by the total score (with adjustment for differential scoring behavior between referees).

The committee operates a single / double-blind peer review process for all the abstracts submitted, where both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous.

The following are the steps that each abstract of ANALYTICON-2020 undergoes during the process of peer review:

✔ All submitted abstracts are reviewed by internal editorial team to ensure adherence to the conference scope and abstracts which have passed this initial screening are then assigned to the session chair / review committee for evaluation.

✔ The session chair / review committee decides whether reviews from appropriate independent experts / reviewers are needed to evaluate the abstract. External reviewer (s) evaluate majority of the submissions, but it is up to the session chair / review committee to determine the number of reviews required.

✔ Once the reviews have been received, the session chair / review committee decides to accept or reject a manuscript, or to request revisions from the author in response to the reviewers’ comments. If the decision is minor revision or major revision, authors will be given 14 days to resubmit the revised abstract.

Abstracts submitted by invited and/or keynote speakers will be reviewed by conference chairman.

Criteria to be Considered for Scoring

The abstract should be reviewed according to the following criteria:

✔ Originality of concept/approach and level of innovativeness

✔ Significance/impact/relevance to conference theme

✔ Quality of research design/theoretical argument

✔ Conclusions and interpretations of results

✔ Presentation style: coherence and clarity of structure

ORAL GUIDELINES (FOR SPEAKERS)

Number of slides should be minimum and presentation time should be strictly followed. Please stop when signaled by the Chair to do so.

Users of Windows / PC should be responsible for the compatibility with Mac system used at the lectern.

Taking the timelines into consideration, using personal laptops are not recommended unless under unavoidable conditions.

No videos will be recorded.

Basic presentation requirements

Presentation format: .PPT, .doc

MAC compatible presentation.

Movies: Please take steps to compress your videos.

Each slide should be designed to be concise, uncluttered and readable from a distance: include only key words and phrases for visual reinforcement. Avoid lengthy text.

Upload less than 8 MB file (Suggested Formats: .ppt, .pptx, .mov, .pdf). More than 8mb file send to [email protected] via your email.

Uploading presentation is not mandatory, you can bring with you on the flash drive or storage device to the event for your presentation and submit before your session starts.

AV Set up:

Basic AV setup would be provided; slider with pointer, cordless mike, desktop mike, lapel, basic sound system.

If you have any audio / video to be played, they should be checked in prior / before one day with the AV team.

Upload your presentation before [3 days] traveling to the conference venue

Go to the presentation upload site and upload your presentation slides.

You must use the email address you provided when you submitted your abstract. Once logged in, follow the instructions on the screen.

You can also email the presentation to the designated conference email ID.

All presentations will be downloaded to your session room on the day of your presentation.

The presentations will be loaded prior with the name "first name_last name and date / session"

Load your presentation at the registration desk

It is recommended to upload the presentation before 3 days of conference start date. But if unable to send, you can always load your presentation (save the presentation in USB Flash drive) at the lectern before your scheduled presentation during the break. The USB Flash drive will be scanned before transferring the presentation to the presentation folder.

Once the presentation is completed it will be permanently removed.

Considerations for PC Users [create on PC then move to Mac]

Appropriate extension usage (the part after the period. in the filenames): use .PPTX, .PPSX if saving from PowerPoint 2007/2008/2010/2011 format or use .PPT or .PPS if saving to an earlier version format or saving from an earlier version.

Copy the media file to the folder where the PowerPoint file is, and only then insert it; otherwise links to most media files will break.

AVI or MPEG are better choice files for movies or sounds; don't use WMV (Windows Media Player).

Usage of fonts: Arial, Times New Roman, Courier and Symbol are best present on Macs.

Don't squeeze your text into placeholders: Text rendering on PC vs Mac (font substitution) can cause your squeezed text to get truncated in text boxes.

POSTER COMPETITION

Three best poster awards for students will be given at the conference and the winners will be announced on the last day of the conference.

Winner will be chosen based on the visual appearance of the poster, clarity of concepts presented, audience engagement, technology advances and implications of the work presented.

ANALYTICON encourages attendees to gain further exposure by presenting their work in the poster sessions. To secure a poster board and inclusion in the conference materials, your abstract must be submitted, approved and your registration paid in full by February 18, 2020. Posters will be limited to ONE poster per person.

Reasons you should present your research poster at this conference:

Your poster will be seen by our international delegation, representing leaders from top academic and government institutions

Your poster abstract will be published in our conference materials

Poster Panel Size

Please refer to this visualization of the poster panels to be used during the conference. The display area for each poster on the panel of the poster board is 1 m wide by 1 m high.

This area will be allocated for each poster. Please ensure that your poster does not exceed this size. It is recommended that you leave a margin of at least 3 inches (7.5 cm) around the poster. When preparing your poster and considering how much of your display will be visible at eye-level, please bear in mind that panels will be mounted on legs/stands.

Poster Panel Allocation

A numbered panel will be allocated for each poster (separate from the abstract number you have been assigned) and staff will be on hand at the conference to provide your poster panel number. Poster cards with number will be placed on the poster hall before one hour of the session start.

Please ensure that you stand by your poster(s) during your session for discussion and questions. You will be notified of your allocated session shortly along with set up and tear down times.

Each author will be provided with a 1-meter x 1-meter poster presenting area and mounting pins / stick-tape. Participants are responsible for mounting their posters during the presentation and in removing them as soon as the session ends. Posters left up past that time will be discarded.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION

A poster should be self-contained and self-explanatory, allowing different viewers to proceed on their own while the author is free to supplement or discuss particular points raised in inquiry. Presentations should be kept simple and clear and a mixture of text and graphics is recommended. Remember that the viewer, not the author, as in the case of slide presentations, determines the time spent at each poster.

Poster Layout

Materials should be mounted on coloured poster paper or board. Use matt finish rather than glossy paper. Arrange materials in columns rather than rows. It is easier for viewers to scan a poster by moving along it rather than by zigzagging back and forth in front of it. An introduction should be placed at the upper left and a conclusion at the lower right. The abstract does not need to be presented.

Illustrations

Figures should be designed to be viewed from a distance and should use clear, visible graphics and large type. Each figure or table should have a heading of one or two lines. Additional essential information should be provided below in a legend. Photographs should have good contrast, sharp focus and, if necessary, an indication of scale.

Text

Minimise narrative. Use large type in short, separated paragraphs. Numbered or bulleted lists are effective ways to convey a series of points. Do not set entire paragraphs in uppercase or boldface type.

Titles and Fonts

Titles and captions should be short and easy to read, in a sans serif font for preference. Use large lettering as this means a number of people can read the poster from a distance without overcrowding. Remember to caption your poster with the abstract title, authors names and affiliations.
