Conference Objectives!

Economic Growth through Productivity, Technology and Innovation!

Research indicates that Asian economies are expected to grow over 6.3% each year between 2018-2022 as is evident from the solid growth witnessed some of the prominent countries such as China, India, ASEAN countries on account of growing trade, exports and strong domestic consumption. (Source: OECD Report 2018). These growths might be stifled by factors such as trade restriction measures from advanced countries, regional trade agreements, growth in private sector debt and adverse monetary policy measures. However, economists argue that, in the long run, rapid growth in technological change, emergence of digital economy and their impact on various sectors of the economy including production, services and other sectors would give a fresh fillip to greater transformations and growth in Asia.

It is interesting to note that digital strategies, use of internet and adoption of innovative technologies and production methods have made a deeper impact on business entities thus driving the growth of ASEAN and the global economy.

Innovation! The Key Driver of Economic Growth!

One of the key benefits of innovation is that it helps tangible and sustainable growth. Innovation and new ideas lead the way to higher productivity and, quite obviously, productivity helps economic growth. Productivity means lesser expenses and more profit; more profit indicates and can lead to payment of more wages and salaries for workers which will lead to surplus income in their hands. This surplus income results in more sales and profit for businesses. Again, businesses will invest more with the surplus profit and will possibly hire more workers. It is an interesting phenomenon where a combination of all these factors gives fresh fillip to economic growth and prosperity in the long run.

Against this backdrop, we are extremely happy to host this upcoming conference in Taipei, Taiwan-PRC. This conference aims at achieving the following objectives:

a) Identify the key factors contributing to tangible and sustainable economic growth;

b) Encourage sharing of knowledge, experience, expertize and best practices from the academic community and industry leaders/practitioners on aspects such as innovation, use of technology and productivity to apply the same in other countries;

c) Provide an ideal platform for researchers, economists, industrialists, start-up companies, bankers and practitioners to network and collaborate in order to encourage joint research among individuals and institutions;

d) Offer suitable solutions to ensure an orderly growth of the global economy and bring prosperity with the support of Asian and other economies.
